S58 will not be recorded as a great one for TB, not helped by a number of distractions off the cycle track for Manager Barry which blew my tactical planning out of the water (I even missed a sign-up for a WT race). Anyways, hoping that S59 will be calmer in that respect. Only 1 win this season thanks to fans favourite this season, Filip Volkov's smash and grab break away in the Spitak - a great personal performance from him and in a D5 race to boot and Davydov, Kapriyanov and Looper all picking up respectable podiums to avoid a team hairdryer event in the dressing room.
TB ended S58 in D6 - not great and we've slipped down the FSU rankings, but it could have been worse. It was noticable that with a number of riders due to retire this year there have been a few distractions over riders futures as well. Well at least we regained our top spot as Ukraine's best side and financially TB has continued to show prudent progress.
Team Manager Barry said "Not a great season for us, hoping we can dust down and push for on for S59 especially as the new crop of riders will be taking a far greater degree of responsibility for next season".
In summary:
Pts: 328 (-181pts)
Division: F (6) (-1 Divisions)
Rank: Ukraine 1st (+1place)
worldwide 406th (-136 places)
Team Value 1.703m (+42k)
Personnel & Tactical Changes
Bugayev despite a whole raft of places continues to blow hot and cold but will remain as Team Captain for S59, Davydov will continue as VC, heading up a fastly improving cobbling outfit. After a poor season Vajda is dropped as back-up captain and in recognition of the improving climbing capabilities of TB, Voronkov will be back-up Captain - with Kapriyanov and Vajda picking out any individual TT and races while on TF. Nathan Trorbaugh announces his retirement and moves to TB's coaching staff, the sprinting contigent of Looper and Gilbert will look to retire midway through S59 and Yemelyanenko has agreed to depart TB under mutual consent.
International:
After a very poor start - no doubt shaken by ArxhangiiliPoznyakax's departure to Montenegro (via Vatican) Ukraine responded very well and were very unlucky not to be joining Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan as Champions. It will be a case of dusting themselves down for another challenge for S59. Good news is that TB will be the dominant force in Ukrainian cycling for the foreseeable future, bad news is that we maybe have to do a lot of heavy lifting from now on.
A number of TB riders were heavily featured, including Bugayev (3 caps), Davydov (2 caps), Nechayev (3 caps), Voronkov (2 caps), Kapriyanov (1 caps) and Dmitriyev (1 Cap) - although none were really able to make their mark.
For TB's Uzbek contingent, Yenotov continues to pick up rides for the Uzbek NT (7, 3 CON) and has proved himself to be an important technical support rider for Uzbekistan's Comrade Cup triumph this season. We hope to see more from him in a TB and Uzbek national shirt for S59.
U23 - NOt much to see here !
Ukraine Honours
N/A - tbh there weren't many Ukraine races we were able to sign-up for this time around.
Tours & Cups
TB were able to enter 2 tours, albeit no major impact was made on the GC for either the Monte Rosa tour or the Stone City Tour (which is still cursed for us) albeit special mentions should be made for Homer Looper picking up a PB podium in the Geneve Geneve and also Kapriyanov's place in the prologue in the same tour.
Objectives for S59
(i) Be top ranked Ukraine Side (S58-Success! )
(ii) Finish in D4 - get some exposure to D4 (S58 - fail)
(iii) Target 3 x wins.(S58-1 wins - Fail)
(iv) Participate in at least one tour, improve on one of best performances.(S58 -participate - met, improvment - fail)
(v) Increase Team value to $1.8mk (S58 - $1.703mk - met (target$1.7m))
(vi) Participate and progress stats in any UKraine race that becomes available (ultimate aim to win all Ukraine's 12 races). (S58 - fail - but no opportunities)
(vii) Finish top 7 of the FSU sides. (ranked 10th in S58 - fail)

Good luck in season 59!
Thanks all...hoping for better things for S59 !....I'll keep an eye out for any montenegrin riders as well !
The Ukrainian nation counts on you!
Nice recap, as is by now tradition, I love the thoroughness of it. Your WT comeback was very impressive, and surely you'll take the top spot again soon!
S59 will be better for sure! We can't live without Yenotov don't worry, he'll probably retire still wearing the Uzbek NT jersey :)
